Marcelo Santana[0] enviou um e-mail para a lista de tradução para o idioma português[1] do Debian informando que foi criado um novo canal na rede de IRC OFTC[2]. O canal é #debian-l10n-br, abaixo segue a mensagem contida no e-mail:

Olá colegas,

Divulgo que passamos a contar com mais um meio de comunicação entre os
colaboradores do time Brasileiro de tradução do Debian, o canal de IRC
#debian-l10n-br na rede OFTC.

Espero que esta seja mais uma ferramenta que facilite o intercâmbio, para
troca de experiências e solução de dúvidas de maneira mais ágil. Mas vale
salientar que o processo de tradução/revisão continuará da mesma forma,
através da lista e com utilização das pseudo-urls.

Qualquer dúvida com relação à configuração e utilização do cliente IRC,
basta perguntar.

Para acessar o canal você deve utilizar um cliente de IRC, como o XChat[3] ou Mibbit[4], o último é um cliente de IRC para web. Acessar a rede OFTC, via irc.oftc.net ou irc.debian.org, e entrar no canal #debian-l10n-br. Aproveite para entrar nos canais #debian e #debian-br .

I’ve just made available a new version of away++, a python plugin for XChat2 IRC Client i wrote.

New Features:

• /awayall [away message]
  This command sets your status as away in all servers you are connected to. The away message is optional.
• /backall [nickname password]
  This command removes your away status in all servers you are connected to. It also identifies your nickname, if you pass your nickname password as an argument.

For some time i tried to highlight the “@all” string in XChat2[0], an IRC client, but when the XChat2 highlight feature reads the “all” word, it highlights all messages, in all channels.

Fortunately, i found a python script that highlights defined strings, and it works great for me. The script name is hilight-phrase, you can find it at ctrl+d blog[1].

I’ve created a page named Development, where i’ll put some tools, scripts and softwares made by me, or in which i had a hand on.

To start that page, i put a plugin for XChat2, named Away++. It changes your nick to an away-nick when you set your status to away and changes your nick back and identifies it when you set your status to back.
